The reporter for the Palm Beach Gazette who is the novel’s narrator. She is swept into Lena Clarke’s life and begins to unravel the mystery surrounding her work in the post office, and her dabbling in the supernatural and the occult.

The 35 year-old postmaster of West Palm Beach. She lives with her parents and older sister in a mysterious house in West Palm Beach. She works in her church and in the Red Cross, but her secret double life was unknown to the residents of West Palm Beach.
